Like many future stars 'Cool Cat' was spotted in a sale yard and purchased as a yearling for a nominal amount. The rest as they say is history. And what a history, 'Cool Cat' is one of only two Thoroughbred stallions ever approved and classified by the AWHA. It was his show jumping technique at the Colt Classification that granted him the Warmblood status. "He jumped the wings instead of the poles" with amazing style and cool finesse.
At the Sydney Royal in 1999 Cool Cat placed 1st in the 4 year old young horse event and went on to win the 4 year old young Dressage Horse of the Year at Werribee, after Olympic gold medallist Anky Van Grunsven rode 'Cool Cat' she ranked him the "Best Young Horse" at that time and he won Champion of Champions at Werribee that year.

In 2000 he won the status of Elementary Horse of the Year in NSW.
His progeny are doing very well in both the dressage and eventing arenas and his most successful off spring being Etienne who placed joint second at Dressage with the Stars in the 4 year old class and is currently competing Medium.
Cool Cat is clearly a modern type performance horse, an elegant athletic stallion with an outstanding temperament, powerful excellent paces and very eager to learn. A very versatile stallion. For you coloured horse breeders, 'Cool Cat' also has a belly splash which promotes the possibility of coloured foals.
'Cool Cat' is by Irish Stallion Aythorpe out of a Shining Finish Mare and stands 16.1hh.
