For Stephen and Suzie Sheppard, breeding horses has always been about selecting for good-sized animals that are a pleasure to ride day-to-day, yet competitive when it matters most. Running cattle on properties at Mitchell and south of Charleville, the Sheppard’s spend countless hours in the saddle. They require their horses to be easy-going, soft and responsive, as much as they value athletic ability.
