SIRE: METELES CAT DAM: TELETRONA
When Beau Frame decided to import a Meteles Cat son, he didn’t muck about. He had very clear reasons for choosing this bloodline and he wanted to find just the right horse with the attributes he believes are crucial for Australia – a great mind, and ability to read and rate a cow while being free moving and a good size. The horse he was looking for must have a strong bottom side, with parents who are themselves proven producers with a lineage of champions. Being an exceptional athlete in his own right was of course a must.
Beau and Emily Frame have had a long association with trainer Jon Templeton. Beau knew that Jon had Meteles Cat progeny and was extremely impressed by them.
When Beau started searching online, he was surprised to quickly find a colt that is a ¾ brother to Metallic Cat Rose. He knew of this mare and thought a lot of her. Metallic Cat Rose’s career highlight was winning the 2020 US NRCHA Worlds Greatest Horseman event ridden by John Swales. It is an elite event which brings together the top US trainers, who are mounted on their best prospects. Winning this event is highly prestigious.
In his first four starts in Australia, Teles Two Times had 4 wins. He is the only stallion Beau can think of who has come into his first season in Australia having been so recently imported and move across from a different discipline to win his first start in a campdraft.
Beau said he really does have everything, from his exceptional nature to the beautiful type of animal he is, and his athletic ability – he is the whole package. His is also extremely fertile with excellent quality semen that freezes well. Beau brought semen over and bred some of their mares before Teles arrived in the country.
The only thing this young stallion has left to prove is to pass on his incredible ability to his progeny. His family are well and truly proven breeders and there is little doubt that Teles Two Times will continue this legacy.
